AIDA announces winter program 2022/2023
The cruise line AIDA Cruises offers its customers a wide range of holiday options in winter 2022/2023 with a total of twelve ships. The variety of itineraries range from dreamy Caribbean voyages to fascinating South Africa, cruises in Northern Europe and unforgettable getaways in the Persian Gulf, the Mediterranean and around the Canary Islands.
AIDA Cruises does everything in its power to ensure that customers can enjoy their holidays in a relaxed and safe way and offers additional flexibility and security supported by a comprehensive health and hygiene concept. With the AIDA Winter Promise, customers remain flexible in planning their vacation: up to 40 days before the start of the cruise, they can rebook free of charge. This applies to new winter travel bookings until August 31, 2022 for departures between October 27, 2022 and April 22, 2023.
With the newest ship, AIDAcosma, unique natural landscapes and modern metropolises of the Persian Gulf await the guests of the program. The 7-day trips take guests from Dubai or Abu Dhabi to Muscat in Oman or the largest natural island in the United Arab Emirates, Sir Bani Yas. This marvelous seaside destination offers many opportunities for relaxation after visiting the megacities: snorkeling, horseback riding or wildlife watching in the nature reserve. Doha (Qatar) is included on both itineraries. On the peninsula, which is almost entirely characterized by arid desert, ancient Middle Eastern traditions meet the futuristic skyline of Doha with its gleaming steel skyscrapers. The undisputed star among the city’s attractions is the kilometer long Corniche. Even more flexibility in vacation planning is offered by the three possible embarkation days on Arabian Gulf voyages: Friday and Saturday in Dubai and Sunday in Abu Dhabi.
AIDAsol will embark on its first world cruise in October 2022. Guests can expect extraordinary places, unforgettable moments and great emotions. During the 117-day XXL adventure, guests circle Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope, visit destinations such as Glacier Avenue, Tierra del Fuego, Cape Town, Fiji, Rio from Janeiro and Tahiti. The absolute highlight is the stopover in Sydney: here guests celebrate New Year’s Eve against the backdrop of the breathtaking skyline of the Harbor Bridge and the world-famous Opera House and one of the most spectacular fireworks in the world.
In the Caribbean, three AIDA ships – AIDAdiva, AIDAluna and AIDAperla – are on a sunny journey to dream destinations. In addition to the ABC Islands, Costa Rica, Panama and Mexico are some of the top destinations.
Those looking for a very special adventure in the Far North will find it on trips with AIDAsol to Winter Norway from February to April 2023 from/to Hamburg.
Throughout the winter season, AIDAprima sails the route to the metropolis from Hamburg. Whether shopping for Christmas in London, Paris and Amsterdam or visiting the Advent markets in Bruges or Honfleur, a festive atmosphere prevails both on land and on board. Festive trips to Norway at Christmas and New Year are a special highlight. Guests aboard AIDAprima experience New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in Oslo.
With AIDAaura, guests experience the natural wonders of Southern Africa. The absolute highlights of the 14-day trips are the stops in Cape Town which last several days, giving guests plenty of time to explore attractions such as Table Mountain and Lion’s Head. Other ports of call include Durban, East London, Walvis Bay, Lüderitz on the edge of the Namib Desert, and Richards Bay, whose coastline is one of the country’s most pristine stretches. Miles of white sandy beaches and numerous nature reserves attract visitors from all over the world to the region.
The winter program is completed with trips to the Canary Islands (with AIDAnova and AIDAmar) and to the cultural treasures of Rome, Lisbon or Barcelona in the Mediterranean from Palma (AIDAstella and AIDAblu). Spring trips to Sicily, Sardinia, Malta and Naples are offered by AIDAblu from February to April 2023 from Civitavecchia / Rome.
Those who prefer to avoid a long air journey will find what they are looking for on the “Great Winter Break” itineraries with AIDAbella. The trips last 43 or 44 days from Hamburg to the Caribbean and back. In 21 and/or 26 days, the trips go to the Canary Islands and return to Hamburg. Before the journeys to the sun, three “Autumnal Northern Lights” cruises from/to Hamburg are on the program.
After 20 years of success, AIDAvita will not resume service for the company. Customers who have already booked travel with AIDAvita will be contacted and informed of their new travel choices or new booking options. For example, AIDAbella will take over the “Great Winter Break” courses from AIDAvita. The trips will last 43 and 44 days respectively, from Hamburg to the Caribbean and back. In 21 or 26 days, customers can sail to the Canary Islands and back to Hamburg. The three “Autumnal Northern Lights” cruises from/to Hamburg will also be taken care of by AIDAbella. AIDAvita customers can of course also choose another cruise from AIDA’s varied program until winter 2023/24.
AIDA customers with confirmed reservations for travel dates between October 2022 and April 2023 whose cruises are affected by changes will be notified directly.
