Etna (Sicily, Italy): (June 8) New eruptive fissures open on the northern flank of the Valle del Bove today.
It actually seems to be made up of two close fractures, one of which has started to erupt a small lava flow at an altitude of between 1900 and 1950 meters advancing a few tens of meters further.

A moderately loud explosion occurred at the volcano shortly after midnight at 12:36 a.m. local time.
A small amount of ash, at the start of the eruption, turned into dense ash emissions gradually increasing to sustained emissions and peaked until about 00:55 local time. Emissions, drifting SW, have shown signs of weakening since then.
