Jennifer Coolidge officially confirmed for season 2 of White Lotus as filming begins | TV shows
Although we heard that Jennifer Coolidge was pretty much a lock to return as Tanya McQuoid for the second season of Mike White’s satirical series. The White LotusAmerican producer HBO has finally made it official, announcing its return as the series begins filming its second season.
The show, which was a real treat last year, featuring rich and obnoxious characters and the staff members who have to deal with their whims in a luxury Hawaiian retreat, is going into an anthology format via a new story , a different place and a collection of characters. (although Coolidge’s McQuoid covers both).
This next season unfolds a White Lotus in Sicily, and the cameras are now rolling at San Domenico Palace, Taormina.
The cast for this one has been slowly revealed, with the ensemble this time including F Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli and Adam DiMarco, who play Bert Di Grasso, Dominic De Grasso and Elbie Di Grasso respectively – an elderly man, his son and his grandson traveling together. Tom Hollander plays Quentin, an English expat on vacation with his friends and nephew. Haley Lu Richardson is Portia, a young woman traveling with her boss, McQuoid.
The new episode also features married couple Cameron and Daphne Babcock, played by Theo James and Meghann Fahy, who are vacationing with another couple, Ethan Spiller (Will Sharpe) and his wife, Harper (Aubrey Plaza). Leo Woodall is Jack, a magnetic guest staying at the White Lotus.
It’s not yet known when the show could debut across the pond or here via Sky Atlantic, but we’re guessing the seven-episode season will arrive in late summer.
