“Pogba & Lukaku are phenomenal, we’re not talking about Correa & Deulofeu”

Former Catania manager Pietro Lo Monaco had made a very honest assessment of Napoli’s transfer targets compared to Inter and Juventus, according to a report by Italian broadcast media.

Talk while Radio Point Nuovo earlier today via FCInternewsPietro Lo Monaco has spoken of Joaquin Correa and Gerard Deulofeu who have both been linked with moves to a Napoli side who need to review their attack after losing Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens.

He downplayed the quality of the two targets, saying: “Correa is a good player, nothing more, I’m more perplexed by one fact: Napoli evolve on banal and rititi names, names like Deulofeu and Correa.”

He added that they should look for more young and talented players like the one they signed from Georgia called Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

“Good players, I repeat, but the road to follow in a restructuring should have been the one already taken with Kvaratskhelia. Young and talented profiles, that should have been the path from the start.

He then spoke about some of the players Inter and Juventus have signed or are linked with this summer, highlighting the improved quality in comparison.

“Lukaku-Inter and Pogba-Juventus? Gentlemen, we are talking here about two phenomena. Two footballers who make the difference on the pitch, the real one. We’re not talking about Deulofeu or Correa, with all due respect to them both.”
