DATES OF DIGITAL RACES AND COURSES
Giro di Sera Racing Series / May 10 – May 28, 2022
May 10 | ETNA
The first stage of the Giro di Sera is an immediately difficult but spectacular stage in one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean, Sicily. The route will take us to the southern slope of Etna, dedicated to one of the greatest climbers in the history of cycling: Marco Pantani. At an altitude of 1,900 m, the limitless view offered to cyclists will reward all efforts.
May 17 | RECANATI
Located on top of a hill, Recanati is the typical “balcony town”: from here, in fact, you can enjoy a wide panorama of the surrounding hills and valleys of the Marche region. This ‘City of Poetry’ is the birthplace of one of the greatest poets of Italian literature, Giacomo Leopardi. And it is near the poet’s birthplace that this beautiful virtual race begins, in the heart of the Marche region.
May 21 | TORINO
This is a stop on the outskirts of Turin that starts from Superga, right next to its beautiful Basilica. Located 672 meters above sea level, the Basilica is one of Turin’s emblematic monuments. The course opens onto the view of the surrounding hills and plains. Towards the end, 2 km of difficult climbs conclude this splendid urban stage through the hills of Turin.
May 25 | CEMBER
The Valle di Cembra is a land that produces wonderful wines and great cycling champions. After the first emblematic ascent, named Salita dei Campionissimi, the stage continues with gentle climbs and descents, passing through typical Trentino villages. The finish line is located next to one of the 300 alpine lakes that characterize the place.
May 28 | PORDOI
This stage is the typical “alpine stage”. The participants will climb one of the most emblematic passes of the Dolomites: the Pordoi pass, which has entered the history of cycling because it has been the stage destination of the Giro d’Italia on several occasions, but above all because of the majesty of the landscape of the Dolomites, which makes it a must for all cycling enthusiasts.
EU, US and Asian time zones are available.
RACE FORMAT AND RULES
- Each day is an individual, self-contained race with the overall individual and overall ranking and country ranking based on points.
- Bike selection and drafting are available and always “ON”.
- The classification in the series is based on the 3 best results in the races. In each race, points are distributed accordingly.
